The Indian Coast Guard has handed over 27 rescued Bangladeshi fishermen who were stranded in their fishing boat in the Indian territory of the Bay of Bengal.
Bangladesh Coast Guard ship Kamruzzaman received the fishermen from Indian Coast Guard ship ICG Amogh at the Indo-Bangla International Maritime Boundary Line on Thursday, reads a press release on Friday (5 April).
Earlier, on 1 April, the fishing boat FV Sagor-2 with 27 fishermen on board, sailed into the bay from Kutubdia in Chattogram. On Thursday, the boat entered into Indian waters following an engine failure.
