Meghna water enter into locality in Lakshmipur
Bangladesh Meteorological Department has asked the district to hoist great danger signal no 10. However, hundreds of boats were seen fishing in rivers ignoring the danger warning
The low-lying land of around 33 kilometres coastal areas of Lakshmipur that are adjacent to rivers have been flooded failing to prevent the impact of cyclonic storm Amphan in absence of embankment along the Meghna River.
The arable land of the areas has gone under three-foot water and the water level of rivers has risen around 6-7 foot. Around 37km area has been exposed as unprotected in the district.
The tidal water in Megna started to rise since 2.30pm today and entered into the coastal areas around 3pm.
