‘No alternative to using technology to adapt to the changed situation’

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said there is no alternative to using technology to adapt to the changed situation brought on by the Covid-19 epidemic.
He was speaking at the inauguration program of online classes for the students of Dhaka Residential Model College through the "Education for Nation" platform at the initiative of the ICT department on Monday.

"This system will be launched in all government schools and colleges across the country in phases," he added.
Welcoming the initiative of launching online class in Residential Model College, he said that in order to build a non-discriminatory mass-oriented education system, the use of technology has to be increased in educational activities.
"A program will soon be launched to provide education assistance to students who do not have internet and digital devices through the 3336 call centre (toll free number)," he further said.
To continue basic services at home during the pandemic, the ICT department has launched two programmes, namely 'Health for the Nation' and 'Food for the Nation'. 'Education for the Nation' is the third initiative of the department and is being run through the Zoom Network.
Principal of Dhaka Residential Model College Brigadier General Shamim Farhad presided over the function. Senior Secretary of the ICT Department NM Ziaul Alam, Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department Mahbub Hossain and many others were present at the program.
