At least 91 people have died as of 11:00pm across the country as protesters and AL men descended on streets across the country.
One killed in Cox's Bazar
A 25-year-old man was killed and nine others were injured from gunshots in clashes between protestors and ruling party men in Cox's Bazar.
The identity of the deceased, who was taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, could not be identified immediately, Dr Ashiqur Rahman of the hospital told TBS.
Three more dead in Dhaka
At least three more people have died in Dhaka.
Their bodies were taken to DMCH. However, protesters took the bodies of two from authorities and led a procession carrying the bodies. The deceased were in their early to mid-20s. Their identities could not be confirmed immediately.
The remaining deceased has been identified as Jewel, 28, a private jobholder.
Five killed in Rangpur
At least five people, including a councillor of Rangpur City Corporation, have been killed during clashes during the ongoing Anti-Discrimination Student Movement today.
Besides, 50 others, including journalists, have suffered injuries, reports Samakal.
Three of the deceased have been identified as Rangpur City Corporation's Ward-4 councillor and Porsuram Thana AL President Haradhan Roy Hara; Swechasebak League leader Khairul Alam Sabuj; Jubo League leader Masum.
Samakal wrote that the identities of the remaining two could not be confirmed immediately.
Office assistant shot dead in Farmgate
Tahidul Islam, an office assistant who worked at Mohakhali DOHS, was shot dead in Farmgate.
He was rushed to DMCH where the on-duty doctors declared him dead, Tamjid, who brought him to the hospital, told TBS.
DIU student shot dead in Karwan Bazar
Romizuddin Roop, a student at Daffodil International University, was killed after he was shot dead during a clash in Karwan Bazar in the capital.
He was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Six AL leaders, supporters beaten to death in Narsingdi
In Narsingdi, six Awami League leaders and activists were beaten to death by the protesters when they opened fire on the protesters in Madhabdi upazila, UNB reports.
During the clash, a number of vehicles, Awami league offices, police stations and other establishments were vandalised and set on fire in different parts of the country, including Chapainawabganj, Barishal,
Students and general people started demonstrations in the morning extending solidarity to the student platform Anti-Discrimination Student Movement's one-point demand for the Prime Minister's resignation.
Pedestrian killed in Bhola
A pedestrian has been killed in Bhola during a three-way clash between AL supporters, protesters and law enforcement members.
The deceased has been identified as Jasim Uddin, 40, son of Abu Taher of Talukder Masjid village.
He was shot during a clash at around 2:00pm in Chakbazar area of Bhola town, Jasim's younger brother Md Sabuj told TBS.
Jasim was a cobbler who used to repair umbrellas in the Notun Bazar area.
Sabuj said, "My brother was shot dead in Bhola Chawkbazar during the clash. On hearing such news, I ran in front of Khalifapatti Mosque. I went and saw that my brother was shot in the head and chest and he died. After that, we did not take the body to the hospital. I brought his body home."
Meanwhile, Bhola Sadar Circle Additional Police Superintendent Ripon Sarkar said, "We have heard that one person was shot to death. Another five also suffered bullet injuries. They are Tamim Mainuddin, 25, Momin, 15, Rana Hossain, 34, Shakil, 19, and Sourav Saha, 21."
One killed in Joypurhat
At least one person was killed during clashes between police and protesters in Joypurhat, our correspondent reports.
The deceased has been identified as Mehedi Hasan.
Over 200 more, including local MP Shamsul Alam Dudu, have been injured during clashes in the district.
Two killed in Uttara
At least one student and an Awami League leader were killed during clashes between protesters and supporters of the ruling Awami League.
Besides, at least 30 people with bullet injuries are receiving treatment at three local hospitals, sources said at around 5:30pm.
The deceased AL leader has been identified as Dhaka North AL Ward-1 former president Anwarul Islam, his brother and former MP Alhaj Habib Hasan told TBS in the afternoon.
The deceased student has been identified as Mahim, 17, according to health officials at Uttara Adhunik Hospital where Mahim was taken with bullet injuries. He died while on the way to the hospital.
Reporting from the spot, our correspondent said protesters gathered in the Jasimuddin Road, Ajampur, and Rajlakhsmi areas in Uttara since 11am. At around 12:00pm, AL supporters led a procession to the Jasimuddin Road resulting in a clash with the protesters. The AL leader lost life during the clash.
The protesters later soon took control of the area as they outmatched the AL supporters by a big margin. At the time, law enforcers advanced towards the protesters firing bullets, tear gas shells, and sound grenades.
Meanwhile, visiting Uttara Adhunik Hospital, Crescent Hospital, Bangladesh Kuwait-Maitree Hospital, our correspondent found out that at least 35 injured are receiving treatment there. Most of them were bullet hit.
One killed in Jigatola
At least one student was shot to death in Dhaka's Jigatola.
The deceased has been identified as Abdullah Siddiqui, 23, a student of Habibullah Bahar Degree College, Prothom Alo reports citing doctors at the DMCH.
He was taken to the hospital at around 4:00pm where the doctors declared him dead.
Five killed in Sylhet
At least five people were killed as Police-BGB clashed with protesters in Sylhet's Gopalganj area at around 2:00pm.
Of those killed, three died in the Dhakadakshin area of Sylhet city and two died in Sadar upazila's Chowmuhani area.
The deceased have been identified as businessman Taj Uddin, 34, son of Mokbul Ali of Barkut village, and Sani Ahmed, 18, a resident of Shilghat, Upazila Health Officer Sudarshan Sen told The Business Standard.
He, however, could not confirm the reason for their death immediately.
Another person was reported dead at around 6:29pm.
The deceased has been identified as Nazmul Islam, 22, a resident of Nischinto village at Dhakadakshin union of Gopalganj, his father Tayeb Ali told TBS.
Nazmul was the owner of a shoe store at Dhaka Dakhsin market.
He succumbed to his injuries received during a clash.
The clashes took place when protesters brought out a procession in the Dhakadakshin area of the Gopalganj upazila.
Many, including members of police, BGB and protesters, were injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, doctors at Osmani Medical College declared two people dead on arrival in the evening. They were injured in a clash near the Chowmuhani area.
They have been identified as Minhaz Uddin, 24, son of Alauddin of Duttarail village of Dhaka Dakhsin area; and Gaus Uddin, 40, of Ghoshghaon village Pouro area, Osmani Medical's Deputy Director Dr Soumitra Chakraborty told TBS.
Earlier today, at the Court Point area, students clashed with police, who fired shotgun teargas shells and sound grenades.
Sylhet District BNP President Abdul Quiyum Chowdhury and other top BNP leaders also brought out a procession.
Eight killed in Lakhsmipur
At least eight people were killed during clashes between supporters of Awami League and its various units, including BCL, Jubo League, and protesters in Lakhsmipur as of 8:20pm.
Lakhsmipur Sadar Hospital's Resident Medical Officer Arup Pal told The Business Standard at around 4:00pm that at least eight dead bodies were taken to the hospital since the clash began.
Besides, at least 15 injured are also receiving treatment there.
Four dead in Kishoreganj
At least four people have been killed in Kishoreganj, Jamuna TV reports.
Eight killed in Feni
At least eight people have died during clashes between supporters of Awami League and its various units, including BCL, Jubo League, and protesters in Feni.
Of them, at least five died during a clash at the Mohipal area on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, our correspondent reports.
The bodies of five deceased are being kept at the Feni General Hospital, Hospital's Resident Medical Officer Dr Asif Iqbal told The Business Standard.
Bangla Daily Prothom Alo, meanwhile, reported that three more people have died in the district today during clashes.
The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.
Three killed in Cumilla
In Cumilla, a youth was shot dead at around 1:30pm near the Debidwar Alihaj Ajgor Ali Munshi Girls' High School during a clash between supporters of Awami League and its various units, including BCL, Jubo League, and protesters.
The incident also left around 15 injured.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Razzaque Rubel, 26, son of the late Rafiqul Islam of Barera area, Debidwar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Ali Ehsan told TBS.
He said Rubel's body was taken to the Upazila Health Complex at around 1:30pm. "We examined and found out that he is dead."
Meanwhile, a police constable of Illiotganj Highway Police Outpost was beaten to death in Cumilla.
The deceased has been identified as Constable Md Ershad Ali, Cumilla Highway Region Police Superintendent Md Khairul Alam told TBS.
"The protesters attacked the police outpost out of nowhere. Policemen then took shelter on the roof. Ershad couldn't climb up on time. They beat him to death," said Khairul.
The death toll rose to three at around 6:40pm with reports of the dead body of an unidentified person being taken to Cumilla Medical College Hospital.
"The bullet-ridden body of an unidentified person is being kept at the morgue of the hospital," said Fazle Rabbi, director of the hospital told TBS.
Another 32 with bullet injuries are undergoing treatment at the hospital, he added.
Three killed during three-way clash in Munshiganj
Three people, including, two construction workers in their mid-twenties were shot dead on their way to work during a three-way clash in Munshiganj.
The death of the construction workers were confirmed by Munshiganj General Hospital Supervisor Abu Hena Mohammad Jamal.
Meanwhile, Prothom Alo reported that a third person was killed.
The violence involved anti-discrimination student protesters, the police, and Awami League and Chhatra League activists.
At least 30 people were injured, including seven with gunshot wounds, and numerous cocktail explosions occurred.
One killed in Magura
Magura became the spot for the second death of the day. One person died and 20 others were injured when police and ruling party men clashed with protesters.
25 killed in Sirajganj
At least 25 people were killed in Sirajganj during day-long clashes, attacks today (4 August), Sirajganj' Additional District Magistrate Litus Lowrence Chiran told TBS at night.
Of them, at least 13 policemen were killed in an attack on the Enayet Police Station, Police Headquarters Senior Information Officer Quamrul Hasan confirmed to TBS.
Rajshahi Range Additional DIG (Crime Management) Bijoy Basak told TBS at 8:00pm that bodies of 12 policemen have been recovered so far.
"Thousands of saboteurs attacked the police station at around 12:00pm. They beat policemen to death. Some were killed by drowning," he said.
Three more people died in the Enayetpur area, Litus Lowrence said.
He also added that three people died in the Sadar upazila and 6 others died in the Rayganj upazila.
Rayganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nahid Hasan said the deceased include local Swechasebak League unit's president, secretary, Union AL unit's general secretary, union parishad chairman, a former BCL leader and a local journalist.
Locals and witnesses said protesters in Sirajganj first gathered on SS Road in Sadar upazila and then attacked the district Awami League office around 11am.
A clash broke out when Awami League men tried to resist the protesters, leaving one dead on the spot, the correspondent reports.
Soon after this, the clash broke out in several areas of the Sadar upazila, leaving three more dead and scores injured.
The protesters vandalised and torched the residences of Awami League lawmakers Md Habibe Millat and Merina Jahan elected from Sirajganj-2 and 6 seats.
Offices of Deputy Commissioner and Sadar upazila's Assistant Commissioner (AC-Land) were ransacked.
Several police outposts and Hatikumrul highway police stations also came under attack. Besides, the protesters besieged Belkuchi police station.
Three killed in Pabna
In Pabna, three were killed during the clash today, reported our correspondent.
Two of them have been identified as Mahbul, 22, and Jahidul Islam, 22.
Five killed in Bogura
At least five people, including four with bullet injuries, were killed in Bogura during clashes between supporters of the ruling Awami League and protesters this noon, our correspondent reports.
The deceased has been identified as rickshaw-puller Abdul Mannan, 65, a resident of Bondighi area in Bogura Sadar; Zillur Rahman, 42, a resident of Gordah area, who is also Upazila Municpality Sramik League Vice President Selim Reza, a resident of Shibganj's Palikanta Pirob area; Monirul Islam, 22, a resident of Kahalu upazila, and another youth who could not be identified immediately.
The deaths have been confirmed by Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, the hospital's Deputy Director Abdul Wadud.
He said another 73 people with injuries are taking treatment at the hospital.
Bogura turned into a battlefield as protesters took to the streets as part of the announcement of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the ruling AL brought out rallies.
During day-long clashes, at least three police stations were attacked. Several government establishments were torched. Bogura Sadar MP Ragebul Ahsan Ripu's house and car were also vandalised and set on fire.
One dead in Savar
In Savar, a dead body was left at the Dhamrai upazila health complex.
"Some locals brought a dead body to the hospital at around 1:20pm. As far as we know, he died at least an hour and a half before the body was brought to the hospital," said Ahmedul Huq, a residential doctor at Dhamrai upazila health complex.
AL leader killed during clash in Barishal
In Barisal, an AL leader was killed during the clash between protesters and AL, BCL men.
He has been identified as Tutul Chowdhury, 60, a leader of the AL for Barishal's ward number 12.
The incident was confirmed by Dr ASM Sayem Chowdhury, in charge of the emergency department at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Elsewhere in Dhaka, unidentified individuals set fire to an ambulance and a motorcycle in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) premises.
Protesters took over Shahbagh while some men chanting AL slogans were seen in Panthapath.
A police vehicle was also set on fire in front of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court.
Reports of firing were also reported from the Dhanmondi area. A TBS journalist was also attacked with a sharp weapon in the area.
Two killed in Mirpur
At least two people have been killed in Mirpur-10 during clashes.
The deceased, identified as Miraz, around 24, was shot in his chest with a shotgun.
He was rushed to Mir Azmal Ali Hospital where the doctors declared him dead, the hospital's doctor Oindrila told TBS.
Another person with injuries received during clashes in Mirpur breathed his last at the National Institute of Neuro Sciences & Hospital in Agargaon in the afternoon, our correspondent reports from the hospital.
However, his identity could not be confirmed immediately,
Another 18 injured, eight with bullet wounds, are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
In Chattogram, the scene of clashes and arson yesterday, shots were reportedly fired at protesters.
Incidents of shooting were reported during the back-to-back programmes called by protesters and Awami League (AL) men in the New Market area of the port city.
