TRZ Group will pay due salaries by 22 August: BGMEA
The factory owner has agreed to clear all dues by 22 August, Khandoker Rafiqul Islam, acting president of BGMEA, says
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has assured the TRZ Group ready-made garment (RMG) workers that their due salaries will be paid by 22 August.
"The factory owner has agreed to clear all dues by 22 August," Khandoker Rafiqul Islam, acting president of BGMEA told The Business Standard after the meeting between TRZ Group workers and BGMEA's top office bearers on Tuesday (13 August).
"The factory owner already paid a part of their payment on Monday. As per the commitment, the owner will try to pay workers before the deadline," he added.

Earlier in the evening, about 200 TRZ Group workers blocked the BGMEA office at Uttara demanding salary arrears.
Then they held a meeting that ended around 10pm.
Khandoker Rafiqul Islam presided over the meeting while BGMEA Vice President Abdullah Hil Rakib, Director Ashikur Rahman Tuhin and TRZ Group's Managing Director Harun Ur Rashid were also present at the meeting.
