First meeting of National Bank's newly formed board held
The first meeting of the newly formed Board of Directors of National Bank was held on 22 August.
In this 505th meeting of the Board, Sponsor Director Abdul Awal Mintoo was elected as Chairman, and Sponsor Director Moazzam Hossain was elected as Vice Chairman, reads a press release.
The meeting was attended by new board director & shareholder Zakaria Taher, Independent Director & former Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Md. Zulkar Nayn, Independent Director & former Managing Director of Shimanto Bank Mr. Muklesur Rahman, Independent Director Professor Dr. Melita Mehjabeen from the Institute of Business Administration at Dhaka University, and Independent Director & Chartered Accountant Mr. Md. Abdus Satter Sarkar.

Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of National Bank, along with Deputy Managing Directors, also participated in the meeting.
This follows the dissolution of the previous Board of Directors by Bangladesh Bank on August 20, 2024, and the formation of a new board under the 'Bank-Company Act, 1991 (Amended up to 2023).'
