Hasina among 49 sued for killing MIST student Yeamin
A murder case was filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 48 others for killing Shaikh Ashabul Yeamin, a student of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), on 18 July during the student protests.
The victim's uncle Abdullah-Al Kabir filed an application to Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Saiful Islam's court this morning for lodging a murder case against the 49 accused.
Accepting the plea, the court ordered Savar Police Station to record the statement of the plaintiff and register the complaint as a first information report (FIR).
Awami League general secretary and former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, among others, were made accused in the case.
According to the case statement, Yeamin, a student of MIST was shot from an armoured car while he was attending a protest rally on 18 July .
He was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead, the case statement said.
