Former prime minister Sheikh Hasina is plotting a deep conspiracy against the country sitting in India, Maulana Mamunul Haque, secretary general of Khelafat Majlis and a cleric who has given rise to controversy in the past, has said.
The people of the country should come together to counteract her manipulations conspiracies, he said at a public meeting organised by Khelafat Majlis at Muktamanch at Zero Point Satmatasha in Bogra city today (14 September).
Mamunul also rather bizarrely claimed that the country's Hindus "intend to exploit the situation" by demolishing their temples themselves, but that "will not be allowed". He offered nothing by way of evidence for this claim.
"Hasina should be brought back to the country and tried," he said.
Mamunul further stated, "She has done politics to try her father's murder and innocent people have been hanged in the name of justice.
"Hasina has laundered lakhs of crores taka from the country. That money should be brought back. Other leaders of Awami League must be tried. The violence against innocent people at the border must be addressed.
"Everyone must stand firm in defending their newfound freedom," he added.
Among others, joint secretary generals of Khelafat Majlis Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmad and Maulana Ataullah Amin, organising secretary Maulana Enamul Haque Musa and Maulana Fazlur Rahman, were also present.
