KBCCI delegation strengthens Bangladesh-Korea ties with strategic MoUs
The Korea-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KBCCI) has completed a delegation visit to Korea, led by H.E. Mr. Park Young-sik, Honorable Ambassador of Korea to Bangladesh. The delegation, held from September 9 to 13, 2024, included key figures such as Mr Shahab Uddin Khan, President of KBCCI; Advisor Mr Mostafa Kamal; CEO Mr Do Kee Park (Harry); and Board Members Mr Chaitanya Kumar Dey Chayan and Mr Shameem Ahsan Khan.
During the visit, KBCCI signed two pivotal Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in Seoul. The first, with the Korea Packaging Association (KOPA) on September 10, 2024, focuses on establishing a framework for collaboration in the packaging industries of both nations. The second, signed with the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) on September 12, 2024, aims to enhance bilateral foreign trade.
Both agreements include provisions for knowledge exchange, technological transfer, joint ventures, and direct investment, highlighting the mutual commitment to fostering growth in key industries.
Additionally, KBCCI engaged in crucial discussions with the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), addressing potential collaborations in sectors such as manufacturing, vocational training, education, health, agriculture, and shipbuilding.
This delegation marks a milestone in strengthening the economic and trade relationship between Bangladesh and Korea. The successful signing of MoUs with KOPA and KOIMA, coupled with strategic meetings with FKI and KOICA, sets the stage for future cooperation, mutual growth, and innovation across various sectors.
