14th MTB Foundation ‘Bravery and Courage Award’ presented to Late Md Jubayer
MTB Foundation has recently presented its 14th Bravery and Courage Award to the family of Late Md. Jubayer for trying to save Rajia Begum and her one-year-old son, who was trying to commit suicide by jumping under an oncoming train on the rail tracks of Adorsha College Gate in Gaibandha on April 01, 2024.
In his attempt to save the mother and child, Jubayer and the mother were hit by the speeding train, which left them both critically injured and later, both of them succumbed to their injuries at the Gaibandha General Hospital.
A unique crest and cheque were handed over to the family members of Late Md. Jubayer through a simple ceremony at the Bank's Corporate Head Office, MTB Centre, Gulshan 1, Dhaka 1212 in the presence of Rashed Ahmed Chowdhury, Director, Khwaja Nargis Hossain, Director, Anika Chowdhury, Director, Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, AMD & GCRO, Md. Khalid Mahmood Khan, AMD & CBO; Rais Uddin Ahmad, Deputy Managing Director and Sujan Barua, Group Chief Financial Officer of Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB); and Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer of MTB Foundation.
MTB Foundation introduced the Bravery and Courage Award in 2012 to recognize different acts of bravery and reward selfless individuals and their families.
