A total of 110 individuals have been arrested and 243 firearms recovered during a nationwide joint forces operation, according to the Police Headquarters today (30 September).
The confiscated firearms include 13 revolvers, 57 pistols, 14 rifles, 31 shotguns, 5 pipe guns, 24 shooter guns, 25 LG guns, 39 guns, one AK-47, 2 gas guns, 5 air guns, 7 SBBLs, 5 SMGs, 2 tear gas launchers, and 2 three-quarters.
The operation, which began on 4 September, aims to recover firearms and ammunition not deposited at police stations under suspended licenses, as well as weapons recently looted from police stations and other locations.
