Rangpur City Corporation distributes Tk20.86 lakh grants to puja mandaps
The Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) authority today (8 October) distributed Tk20.68 lakh as grants among 149 Puja mandap authorities at a function held in RpCC conference room in the city.
RpCC organized the function with leaders of the Rangpur city unit and 33 ward-level units of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad (BPUP) and authorities of 149 Puja mandaps, marking the Durga Puja festivity.
Secretary of RpCC Joyoshree Rani Roy distributed cheques for Tk14,000 as a grant to each of the 149 Puja mandap authorities to assist the Sanaton community in celebrating their greatest religious festival of Durga puja starting tomorrow (9 October).
The Chief Property Officer (Senior Assistant Secretary) of RpCC Mousumi Afrida, its Chief Accounts Officer Md. Habibur Rahman, the General Secretary of Rangpur city BPUP Advocate Prashant Kumar Roy, and Sanaton community leader Ramakrishna Somani, among others, were present.
Presidents and General Secretaries of 149 Puja mandaps were present at the programme.
Addressing the occasion, Joyoshree Rani Roy greeted the Sanaton community on the occasion of Durga puja and wished a very happy celebration of the five-day festivity in the city as elsewhere in the country.
