Faridpur municipality admin removes 99 staff for long time absenteeism
The former staff, who had been appointed on master role, used to withdraw salaries without coming to work, according to municipality sources
A total of 99 staff of Faridpur municipality have been sacked by its administrator for being absent from work for a long time.
The decision was taken at a meeting by Administrator of Faridpur municipality and Deputy Director of Local Government Division Chowdhury Rawshan Islam yesterday (8 October).
The former staff, who had been appointed on master role, used to withdraw salaries without coming to work, according to municipality sources.
"Among the 845 staff of Faridpur municipality who had been appointed on master roles, 99 have been sacked. The salaries of these staff is between Tk3,000 to Tk6,000," said Chief Executive of the municipality Tanjilur Rahman.
Contacted, Chief Accountant of the municipality Gobinda Chandra Mandal said that the 99 staff have been sacked as the administrator found them to be negligent with their duty over a long stretch of time.
