Foreign missions should brand Bangladesh as investment destination: Amcham president

Foreign missions of Bangladesh should brand the country as an investment destination through strategic diplomacy, said American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) President Syed Ershad Ahmed.
He expressed this view during a meeting with Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the latter's office in the city yesterday (9 October).
Director General of North America Wing Khandker Masudul Alam and Director of North America Wing team Samia Israt Roneem were also present, reads a press release.
During the discussion, Ahmed emphasised the importance of branding Bangladesh as an investment destination through strategic diplomacy.
He advocated for measures for the ease of business operation for the existing US investors and a transparent predictable legal and regulatory environment for attracting potential foreign direct investment (FDI).
The delegation also addressed visa processing facilitation across several countries, highlighting its significance in supporting international business operations.
The advisor expressed his commitment to these matters, assuring the delegation that these issues are under active consideration. He also encouraged ongoing collaboration for necessary support.
The AMCHAM team reiterated their commitment to fostering strong relationships with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and promoting favorable policies that promote trade and investment in Bangladesh.
AmCham President also handed over "AmCham Recommendations: The Way Forward" and a couple of AmCham research reports related to Bangladesh trade and business.
Along with Syed Ershad Ahmed, AmCham President, Rubaba Dowla, Country Managing Director, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, Oracle Corporation, Ala Uddin Ahmad, CEO, MetLife, Habib Bhuiyan, Country Manager, Excelerate Energy Bangladesh Ltd, Kabir Ahmed, Chairman, Conveyor Logistics Limited and President, BAFFA, Momshad Ali Khan, Director, Coca-Cola Bangladesh Ltd., and Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh, Secretary, AmCham Bangladesh were present at the meeting.
Meanwhile, Syed Ershad Ahmed, President of The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham), and Country Manager and Managing Director, Expeditors (Bangladesh) Ltd, while talking to this correspondent said that Washington's engagement with Dhaka will increase in the coming days as Bangladesh is likely to see increased USA investment in the coming days with a better environment.
