Presidency University hosts Business Fest 2024
Presidency University's Business Club, BizBox, hosted an unforgettable "Business Fest 2024" at the Baridhara DOHS Convention Centre with electrifying energy and vibrant events.
The event aimed to ignite career passion and empower future leaders.
The festival launched with a high-spirited opening dance and a heartfelt welcome for new students, setting the tone for two days of inspiration and insight. Distinguished guests, including Professor Dr Mohammad Anwarul Kabir, Principal Advisor of Presidency University; Registrar Mohammad Sakir Hossain; and Dean of the School of Business Professor Abul Kalam, were in attendance, alongside faculty, staff, and students.
The event's keynote speaker was M. Sabbir Ali, Head of Corporate HR at Transcom Group. Known for his transformative leadership, Mr Ali delivered a powerful address urging students to embrace ambition and confidently prepare for the future. His words captivated the audience, inspiring students to envision their career paths with purpose.
The event featured highlights, from cultural performances to professional workshops. A pivotal moment was a concert by university alumnus Rajon Hossain, whose performance energised the crowd. In a particular play organised by current and former students, the challenges faced by Indigenous students in urban areas were spotlighted, celebrating the university's supportive community.
In addition to cultural events, "Business Fest 2024" recognised students for their achievements in case studies and business competitions. The first day, November 6, featured a business expo, corporate coaching sessions, and the "Meet the Leader" seminar with Major AKM Habibul Haque (Retd.), Corporate Affairs and Security Manager at Nestlé Bangladesh PLC. Corporate mentors—including Munim Ibna Mohsin from USAID, Layla Naznin, HR Head at Star Cineplex, and Khalid Hossain, Marketing Specialist at the World Bank—provided invaluable insights to guide students' career journeys.
Through empowering activities, workshops, and mentorship sessions, BizBox created an inspiring and memorable experience. It left students motivated and ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow. The event concluded on a high note, with students buzzing about new ideas and possibilities for their futures.
