Among many people, dogs also partook in celebrating the day.
Indian Army shared two pictures of the Army Dog Unit practicing Yoga with their trainers on their Instagram profile. The lovable pictures of the dogs doing yoga, or doga, have gone viral on the internet.
Dog Squad of Border Security Force in Jammu of Kashmir, India, posted a video of them doing “doga” from their official Twitter account.
In Bangladesh, around 7,000 people practiced yoga asanas together to commemorate the day at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka – where the event commenced with a video message of Narendra Modi, Indian Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also marked the day by leading a group of 30,000 people in performing asanas at a massive event in Ranchi.
Yoga originated in India as an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that had been kept alive for thousands of years by the practitioners.
