4 Bangladeshi movies that deserve a sequel
Like Hollywood, Bangladesh too can jump into the bandwagon of sequels and reboots
Hollywood and its love for sequels has led to production of "Mission Impossible" and "James Bond" sequels. Dhallywood in its purest form has given us some entertaining masterpieces that deserve a sequel. Let us imagine some imaginary sequels of Bangladeshi hit films.
Bitcoin er Prem
"Chowdhury Saheb, goriber valobasha taka diye kinte parben na" (Mr. Chowdhury, you can't buy a poor man's love for his beloved).
The second act of many Bangla cinema is incomplete without the rich and arrogant Chowdhury Saheb throwing off blank cheques at our poor hero, and the hero refusing it.
Our heroes- Rubel, Omor Sani and Riyaz could have been a millionaire (in the movies) if they would have just accepted the cheque but now cheques are of no use in recent times.
This is the age of bitcoin and people are using it to invest in business ventures. So, can bitcoin be the ultimate weapon of love test? Well, certainly if director Sohanur Rahaman Sohan can come up with a sequel of Shakib Khan's popular movie "Koti Takar Prem."
The sequel can be called "Bitcoin er Prem" and Chowdhury Shaheb can try to lure the hero away from the heroine by offering bitcoins.
Bachelor 2
Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's "Bachelor" remains one of the most popular movies of our generation. It has been 16 years since the last time we saw the bachelor's failing to juggle their love life and job.
Fans deserve to know what our favourite bachelors are up to. Have they given up their freedom and opted to change baby diapers? Well let's imagine the sequel of Bachelors 2.
Hasan Masud's character must be running around to school with his two children. Marzuk Russell might become a tiktok star with his iconic dialogue "Baccha hobe nah, baccha hobe nah." Aupee Karim's character might friendzone Ahmed Rubel and Ferdous' characters and shift abroad.
The said events are possible, but only in the potential sequel "Bachelor 2." Will Farooki make a sequel to his debut film? Let's see.
Shoshur Keno Chakor
"Baba Keno Chakor," the movie has been made both in Dhallywood and Tollywood. The good for nothing son, the sick and old wife, and the wicked daughter-in-law make the life of a poor father unbearable and then finally he becomes the "chakor" of the house.
The producers of the movie could very well now make a reboot of the movie and call it "Shoshur Keno Chakor."
The plot can center on a rich girl marrying a gold digger called "Rocky" who takes away all the property and bank balance from his father-in-law and turns him into a servant.
Premer Shomadhi 2
Bapparaj, the ultimate "friendzone" bro, has often been a favourite topic of internet trolls. Premer Shomadhi 2 can be the perfect reply to all such memes.
In "Premer Shomadhi," Bapparaj dies and the heroine comes with her rich husband to put flowers over his grave.
In "Premer Shomadi 2" we can imagine it to be a "revenge horror movie." Bapparaj rises from the grave and decides to take revenge on the gold-digger heroine. Bapparaj begins his hunt to search for the heroine but ultimately our friend-zone hero becomes a notorious serial killer in Noakhali. Bapparaj will kill everyone with the power of his one-sided love for our heroine.
