Artcell releases a song for the roads
In an unexpected yet quintessentially rock gesture, Artcell dropped their latest single, 'Oprotiroddho,' on 20 December. The energetic track debuted on Facebook with an accompanying music video, with releases on Spotify and YouTube anticipated soon.
"This is an exclusive collaboration with Suzuki Bangladesh. They wanted a rock band to create a song reflecting their ethos," explained drummer Kazi Asheqeen Shaju.
The song showcases Artcell's layered guitar work, utilizing the talents of three guitarists. It opens with melodic notes and an intro solo by Iqbal Asif Jewel before escalating into chugs and galloping riffs, maintaining high energy throughout.
"We envisioned the freedom and spirit of riding while composing. It's about breaking free," said bassist Saef Al Nazi Cezanne.
While one-off releases rarely feature in bands' live performances, Artcell is open to including 'Oprotiroddho' in future setlists.
"We've performed it live at niche shows and received great feedback. It could very well become part of our live setup," Shaju added.
