Film screening at Suhrawardy Udyan to support flood victims
The screening will continue for four hours, and anyone watching the films can contribute to the flood relief efforts.
The Independent Filmmakers' Community has organised an open film screening event for flood relief at the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka, reports Prothom Alo.
Titled "Jibon Shongram er Chhobi," the event will feature 15 impactful short films from across the country on 30 August.
The screenings will begin at 6:30pm and will be divided into four sessions. The first session will feature six films.
Some of the films which will be shown in the screening are "The Sound is Loud," directed by Ivan Monwar, "Charpatra," directed by Aparajita Sangita, "ICU," directed by Liton Kor and many others.
The screening will continue for four hours, and anyone watching the films can contribute to the flood relief efforts. The funds raised will be used to assist those affected by the floods.
In light of the ongoing flood situation in the country, nearly five million people are struggling with the devastating effects of being trapped in floodwaters. Many from the cultural sector have extended their support to those affected by the floods.
