James to perform in Riyadh on 22 November
Nagar Baul James is set to perform in Riyadh on 22 November, following an invitation from the Saudi government.
The event is part of the "Bangladesh Culture" segment of the popular "Riyadh Season", which celebrates participating nations' rich and diverse cultural heritage, reports UNB.
The Bangladesh-focused programme will start today at 4pm (KSA time), featuring an array of cultural showcases, including music, dance, and cuisine, representing the traditions of Bangladesh.
"It's indeed exciting news that James will be performing! His first performance in Riyadh is sure to be a memorable event. It sounds like a great plan to join with my friends and enjoy the show. It'll be a fantastic opportunity to see such an iconic artist live," a Bangladeshi expatriate working in Riyadh told UNB.
The event also includes cricketers Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah Riyad, DJ Sonica, and popular singers Porshi and Beauty Khan.
Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Bangladesh, Essa Youssef Essa Al Duhailan, recently highlighted the strong ties between the two nations.
The Saudi Embassy in Dhaka has been issuing a significant number of visas daily, adding to the existing Bangladeshi expatriate workforce of over three million in Saudi Arabia.
The ambassador also expressed eagerness to recruit more skilled and trained workers from Bangladesh to support Saudi Arabia's ambitious "Green Saudi Initiative" and mega projects under its Vision 2030 development plan.
