Singer Sunidhi Nayak reveals incident of life threat, extortion was true
The incident of money being taken from my account under the threat of life to me and my father is true, she added.
West Bengal-based singer Sunidhi Nayak said on Saturday (14 September) she fell victim to a major extortion scheme and her life was under threat.
The singer in a Facebook post wrote, "I am exhausted and overwhelmed by the events of the last few days. There have been so many calls and texts during this time. I have not been able to respond to everyone or attend to matters. I am grateful to those who have been checking on me repeatedly. I am now fine, but I am mentally very broken."
"Last Thursday, the incident of money being taken from my account under the threat of life to me and my father is true," she added.
She also mentioned being subjected to intimidation involving the dark web.
Sunidhi further said that she would not be giving any statement at this moment as the investigation is currently underway.
"The law enforcement agencies are searching for answers to why it happened, how it happened, and who did it. Therefore, I do not want to give any statement at this moment. I request my journalist friends to pay a little attention to this matter," she said.
Sunidhi Nayak, known as a Rabindra Sangeet artist, gained significant popularity among the Bangladeshi audience after marrying Bangladeshi singer Arnob in 2020. She also appeared in Coke Studio Bangla's song "Shondhatara."
