An abysmal over from Nazmul raises questions
Nazmul came in to bowl in the eighth over in the match between Dhaka Platoon and Sylhet Thunder with Dhaka’s Tamim Iqbal on strike.
First it was Krishmar Santokie, who bowled a massive no-ball and a wide in the first match of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League and now an over from Sylhet Thunder bowler Nazmul Islam Apu has been met with raised eyebrows.
Nazmul came in to bowl in the eighth over in the match between Dhaka Platoon and Sylhet Thunder with Dhaka's Tamim Iqbal on strike.
In the fourth ball of the over, Nazmul bowled it way down the legside, and Tamim just barely managed to get bat on it and play it fine for a boundary.
The next ball (fifth ball of the over)l, it was another one bowled down the leg and Tamim chased it, but couldn't connect as the ball hit his pad.
The very next delivery, it was again bowled down the leg side and this time the batsman and the keeper missed it - the result was three wides as Nazmul also failed to collect the throw from the fielder.
The next ball was bowled way outside off-stump and resulted in another wide.
The final legal delivery was once again down the leg and the result was another boundary.
A television commentator who chose to keep anonymity said: "It did look very suspicious. Nazmul is generally a very accurate bowler and this was unexpected from him."
The cricket board has previously said that they would monitor these kind of unusual incidents during the game so it remains to be seen how this progresses.
