Asia Cup Archery: Ruman Shana reaches recurve men’s singles final
Ruman Shana will play final against Shi Zhengi of China on Friday (Sept 13) at 12:25 pm (Bangladesh Time).
Bangladeshi archer Mohammad Rumon Shana advanced to the recurve men's singles final of the Asia Cup-World Ranking Archery Tournament beating Ta La of China by 6-4 set points in the semifinal in the Clark city of Philippines on Wednesday.
Ruman Shana will play final against Shi Zhengi of China on Friday (Sept 13) at 12:25 pm (Bangladesh Time).
On the way to the final, Ruman Shana beat Thiha Htet Zaw of Myanmar by 6-0 sets in the round of 16, defeated Thepna Denchai of Thailand also by 6-0 sets points in the round of eight and outplayed Yang Huie Jhe of Chinese Taipei by 7-1 sets points in the quarterfinal.
Earlier, in the qualification round of the men's recurve division, Ruman Shana was placed 2nd among the 38 archers of 12 countries scoring 671 out of 720.
Besides, Mohammad Tamimul Islam was placed 20th scoring 644 and Mohammad Abdul Hakim Rubel finished 21st scoring 642.
In the qualification round of the women's recurve division, Beauty Rai ranked 14th among the 27 participants scoring 623.
In the men's recurve team event, Bangladesh team consists of Ruman Shana, Tamimul Islam and Abdul Hakim Rubel ranked 4th among the nine countries scoring 1957.
In the recurve mixed team event, Bangladesh team also ranked 4th among eight countries scoring 1294.
Bangladesh will play Thailand in the quarterfinal of the mixed team event on Thursday while Bangladesh men's recurve team will also play Thailand in the pre-quarterfnal on Thursday.
