Badal Roy absent at BFF election
On the occasion of the election, many ex-footballers and organisers have come to the Pan Pacific Sonargoan apart from the candidates and voters. Two of the president aspirants, Kazi Salahuddin and Shafiqul Islam Manik were also seen. But Badal Roy, who in the dying moment decided to compete from the Samonnoy Parishad for the post of the president, was not seen even an hour after the votings had begun.
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) elections are taking place today. The voters have started to exercise their voting rights from 2 pm after the annual general meeting took place.
In the meeting, all the councils except three of them were present. Councillor of Chattogram Abahani Tarafdar Ruhul Amin, a councillor from Faridpur Nazmul Islam Khondaker and council from Pabna Anjan Chowdhury were absent.

Badal Roy initially decided not to compete in the election on grounds of illness. But his withdrawal was not accepted as it came an hour late.
His wife Madhuri Roy then requested everyone not to vote for him even if his name was there in the ballot paper.
Suddenly, he announced on Friday that he would compete from the Sheikh Mohammad Aslam and Mohiuddin Mohi-led Samonnoy Parishad. But he was nowhere seen. Regarding this, The Business Standard (TBS) tried to contact him but his phone was switched off.
Shafiqul Islam Manik, who took the go-alone pathway in this year's election, turned up at the Pan Pacific Sonargoan in the morning. He told TBS, "The councillors are calling for change. I still believe that, everyone wants a change."
"My manifesto has been accepted gladly by everyone. I think the councillors have faith in me and I reckon they will not disappoint me," added the former national team defender.
