Barcelona set to swap Arthur for Pjanic
The deal will see Juventus pay Barcelona 10 million Euros in addition to Pjanic to bring Arthur to Turin.
FC Barcelona and Juventus have settled down on a swap deal between Arthur Melo and Miralem Pjanic, according to Guardian.
The deal will see Juventus pay Barcelona 10 million Euros in addition to Pjanic to bring the Brazil midfielder to Turin. The 23-year old Brazilian midfielder is set to sign a contract until 2025 with the Old Lady whereas Pjanic will sign a deal until 2024 with the Blaugranas.
According to rumours, Arthur, who joined Barcelona from Gremio in 2018, was initially reluctant to leave Camp Nou. But the Barcelona hierarchy was not impressed with the Brazilian's output in his couple of seasons at the club and Juventus managed to convince Arthur to move.
Barcelona have been long-time admirers of Pjanic but signing the 30-year old Serbian only adds up to their squad's aging problems.
The players are yet to have medicals and the details of the deal are yet to be ironed out. Both the players will finish the season with their current club and feature for their new ones from September, when the 2020-21 season kicks off.
Barcelona are also looking forward to bringing in Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who has fallen out with his current manager Jose Mourinho. The Catalan club is also looking at a swap deal here as they are interested to swap Philippe Coutinho or Nelson Semedo for Ndombele.
