BD Cup Archery: Ruman Shana finishes top in ranking round of men’s recurve singles
Shana, a player of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, scored 685 to finish top.
Bangladesh's premier archer Ruman Shana finished top in the men's recurve singles in the ranking round of the Modhumoti Bank Bangladesh Cup Archery (Stage-3) at the Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi on Thursday.
Shana, a player of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, scored 685 to finish top.
Mohammad Hakim Rubel and Mohammad Tamimul Islam of BKSP finished 2nd and 3rdin the ranking round of the men's recurve singles scoring 659 and 647 respectively.
In the women's recurve singles, Eti Khatun of Tirondaz Sangsad finished top scoring 532, Mehnaz Aktar Monira of Dhaka Army Archery Club finished became 2nd scoring 63 while Beauty Roy of Tirondaz Sangsad finished 3rd scoring 626 in the day's ranking round.
In the men's compound singles, Sohel Rana of Dhaka Army Archery Club topped list scoring 689, Ashim Kumar Das and Siam Siddiqui of Tirondaz Sangsad finished 2nd and 3rd scoring 689 and 683 respectively.
In the women's compound singles, Bonna Aktar of Bangladesh Ansar clinched the top slot scoring 681, Susmita Bonik of Dhaka Army Archery Club finished 2nd scoring 680 while Shymoli Roy of Bangladesh Ansar became 3rd scoring 677.
In the recurve teams' event, BKSP reached clinched top slot in the men's recurve team scoring 1953, Dhaka Army Archery Club finished top in the women's recurve team scoring 1792, while Dhaka Army Archery Club also clinched to slot in recurve mixed team event scoring 1260.
In the compound teams' event, Tirondaz Sangsad top the men's compound team scoring 2055, Bangladesh Ansar finished top slot in the women's compound team scoring 2021 while Dhaka Army Archery Club finished top of the mixed team event scoring 1369.
The elimination round of the two-day meet will be held tomorrow (Friday) from 10 am at the same venue.
Managing Director and CEO of Modhumoti Bank Shafiul Azam will distribute prizes among the winners as chief guest on Friday.
