CCDM sets stringent bubble-breach punishment during DPL
The punishments may vary from a financial penalty to suspension.
The Dhaka Premier League, after a long hiatus, is scheduled to begin on May 31. The tournament this year will be played out in T20 format and a bio-secure bubble will be established.
The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) had a meeting on Thursday with the club officials and captains to decide on the bio-bubble. It has been decided that the players will have to face heavy penalties if the bubble is punctured.
The punishments may vary from a financial penalty to suspension.

Ali Hossain, member secretary of the CCDM, said, "We had a meeting with the club officials and captains today. We spoke about different aspects including the bio-bubble. We have decided that if someone breaches the protocols, he will have to face a penalty."
"We have a technical committee and that will determine the penalties. It will depend on the seriousness of the offence. Cricketers can be fined or suspended or even points of teams can be deducted. The teams have been made aware of this and provided with the necessary documents," he added.
On the bio-secure bubble, Hossain further said, "The DPL is going be held under the bio-secure bubble for the first time. Everyone has been told to be extra careful. We have decided to penalise players so that there is no bio-bubble breach. Cricketers want to play and the clubs are sincere as well. But we want to ensure their safety first."
The teams will stay in a hotel in Dhaka. There will be separate gymnasiums and swimming pools for the players to ensure their safety. Others won't be allowed to use the elevators that the players will use.
Samples from the cricketers, coach and officials of 12 clubs were collected on Tuesday. Nine of them have tested positive. They were screened on Thursday as well and the results are likely to come on Friday.
