Cwab committee ready to resign
Naimur said this in a press conference at Mirpur on Tuesday, where he was accompanied by Cwab Vice-president Khaled Mahmud and Secretary Debabrata Paul.
Cricketer's Welfare Association of Bangladesh (Cwab) President Naimur Rahman has said that they are ready to resign if that is necessary.
Naimur said this in a press conference at Mirpur on Tuesday, where he was accompanied by Cwab Vice-president Khaled Mahmud and Secretary Debabrata Paul.
The first demand of the 11 demands put in by the Bangladesh cricketers was the resignation of the current Cwab committee. The main reason behind this is both Naimur and Khaled are directors of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Debabrata is a match referee.

In such circumstances, Naimur is willing to let go of his position. He said, "We do not want to forcefully hold on to our positions, we have other responsibilities. We also want new leadership to take charge and we think that it is better."
But he also mentioned that Cwab is not only the organization of the players who are on strike and they had to see if everybody wanted their resignation. "Some players, not all, the players who were there in Monday's press conference think that Cwab is not helping them. They are asking for our resignation from that point of view. They can ask for it (resignation of current Cwab committee) as they think of it like that. We think that Cwab is not only the organization of those players. Cwab is the organization of everyone from the former players to the current ones. So, we must see if everybody wants it (or not)."
Naimur accused the players of not asking for help to Cwab and added that the demands that the players are asking, Cwab has been working on it for a long time. He said, "We have never seen that they have come to us with any demands to tell the board. The things they have asked for to the board - player wages, transportation and residence - we have asked for all of these to the board."
The current committee of Cwab has been in charge for more than 10 years. In a recent interview with a television channel, Naimur accepted the fact that the current committee of Cwab expired a few months ago.
Bangladesh have an upcoming tour of India in the first week of November, but in such chaos, that tour remains dubious.
