A day without gold

Bangladesh had a barren day in terms of winning gold medals, as the athletes failed to secure top spots in any of the day's event. Bangladesh ended the day with a total of 43 medals from four days, including four golds, eight silvers and 31 bronzes.

Day four started with a bronze

Day four, began with a bronze from track and fields. Al Amin secured a bronze in men's long jump. He jumped 7.60 metres and came third placed behind India's Lokesh Sathiana who won gold and his compatriot Swaminathan Raav, who got silver. In the women's division, Rinki Khatun came fifth after jumping 5.70 metres.

There was not much to talk about the other events of the track and field. Bangladeshi sprinter Shirin Akhter came seventh in women's 200 metres sprint. In the men's 200 metres, Bangladeshi sprinter Saiful Islam, also came seventh. The gold medals of these events went to Archana Sushatnta of India and Uzair Rahman of Pakistan, respectively.  

A silver and an unexpected accident in Karate

Bangladesh were favourites to win the gold medal in women's team Kumite Karate category, as on the previous day Bangladeshi athletes secured two gold medals. But, on Wednesday, Bangladesh lost one of their best players, Marzan Akhter, through a freak accident.

They won their match against Sri Lanka by 2-1 points to reach the final. Marzan was injured during the match as she was hit by the opponent. Without an injured Marzan, they lost the gold medal match by the same margin, and had to be satisfied with silver. Nayeema Khatun replaced Marzan in the final bout.  Bangladesh men's team won bronze in the Kumite category.

In individual Kumite, Bangladesh's Sabuj Mia won a bronze in men's -50kg category. In women's +68kg category, Abida Sultana picked up another bronze.

The Karate team finished the games with 3 gold, 3 silver and 12 bronze medals.   

Meanwhile, Marzan was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. After scanning and checkup she was released from the hospital.

Silver and bronze in Kho Kho

The Bangladesh team won silver as they lost the gold medal match to India by an innings and seven points. There was a bronze medal for the women's team also. They defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 2 points in the women category.

Seven bronze medals in Wushu

Bangladesh's Sadia Akhter won bronze in -56kg Sanda category. The same honour was achieved by Rita Biswas in -60kg and Basona Khandker in -70kg. Milon Hossain and Rakib Khondokar also won bronze in the -60kg and -65kg respectively. Also, Rubel Khan ensured bronze in -80kg Sanda category whereas Selim Ahmed won it in the -75kg category.

Mixed Doubles semifinal for the shuttlers

Bangladesh mixed doubles team defeated Nepal in straight sets to reach the semifinal. Bangladeshi shuttlers Salman Khan and Urmi Akhter beat Nepal's Nabin-Nanjal pair by 21-13 and 21-17 points.

Defeat in men's Handball

Bangladesh lost 42-33 to India at the Men's Handball Tournament being held at Pokhara. India was 3 points ahead during the first half with 22-19 on the scoreboard.
