How many days will Bangladesh have to be in quarantine in Zimbabwe?
Initially, Zimbabwe informed about a 7-day quarantine. BCB chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said it would take a few more days to finalise the matter.
Bangladesh cricket team is touring Zimbabwe after eight long years. The Tigers will leave the country on June 29 to play one Test, three ODIs, and three T20s.
It is being discussed how many days Bangladesh will have to quarantine during this visit.
Initially, Zimbabwe informed about a 7-day quarantine. BCB chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said it would take a few more days to finalise the matter.
"Until now we have been informed of 5 to 7 days quarantine. We are working according to that. However, nothing has been finalised yet," the BCB chief executive said on Wednesday.
The quarantine in the Zimbabwe tour could also be the same as Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh was scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs, and two T20s in the tour. But the two boards decided to reduce a Test by negotiating, increasing one T20.
The Dhaka Premier League started on May 31 with the participation of almost all the cricketers of the national team.
According to the previous schedule, the T20 format event was scheduled to end on June 24. The BCB plans to rest the cricketers for a few days and leave for Zimbabwe on June 29.
But the cricketers who have been called up to the team may have to go to Zimbabwe without finishing the event. The league has already been delayed for two days due to rain.
According to the previous schedule, six matches are not being held every day. Three matches are going to be held every day in Mirpur till June 5 due to unsuitable ground for BKSP in the rain.
All in all, the league is unlikely to end on June 24. Cricketers who have been called up to the team may have to travel to Zimbabwe without playing the final match.
The only Test match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will start on July 7.
Earlier, Bangladesh will play a two-day warm-up match on July 3 and 4. Three ODIs will be held on July 16, 18, and 20. All the matches will be in Harare. Bangladesh-Zimbabwe will play three T20 matches on July 23, 25, and 27 at this venue.
