Litton and Rishad join Nahid in securing PSL teams
The Karachi Kings picked Litton from the Silver category, while Lahore Qalandars signed Rishad in the third round from the Diamond category.
Following Nahid Rana's early selection in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft, Litton Das and Rishad Hossain have also secured spots in this year's tournament.
The Karachi Kings picked Litton from the Silver category, while Lahore Qalandars signed Rishad in the third round from the Diamond category.
Nahid, meanwhile, was chosen by Peshawar Zalmi from the Gold category earlier in the draft.
A total of 39 Bangladeshi players were part of the PSL draft, held at Lahore Fort on 23 january. Among them, two were listed in the Platinum category, five in Diamond, eleven in Gold, and twenty-one in Silver.
Litton and Rishad join the list of Bangladeshi players selected so far. Nahid, picked in the Gold category, is set to earn $50,000, while Litton and Rishad will each receive $25,000 as part of their Silver and Diamond contracts, respectively. Despite their selections, notable Bangladeshi players Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan, listed in the Platinum category, went unsold in the initial round.
Litton Das, who has faced challenges with his recent form, made headlines during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) with a sensational innings of 125 runs off 55 balls in Sylhet. Despite losing his spot in the national team for the Champions Trophy, his recent performances undoubtedly played a role in attracting Karachi Kings' attention.
Nahid Rana, often described as a pace-bowling sensation, was the first Bangladeshi player to secure a PSL contract this year. Peshawar Zalmi's faith in him comes with the promise of his impressive abilities on display in the upcoming tournament.
Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain also grabbed attention, earning his place in Lahore Qalandars' squad. Alongside Litton and Nahid, his signing reflects the growing presence of Bangladeshi players in franchise leagues worldwide.
For Bangladeshi players who went unsold in the initial rounds, hope remains alive. PSL franchises still have the option to select players from the supplementary category, leaving the door open for more selections as the draft progresses.
