Mushtaq Ahmed returns to Bangladesh team ahead of South Africa Tests
Mushtaq was absent during Bangladesh's recent series against India.
Mushtaq Ahmed has rejoined the Bangladesh national team as spin bowling coach, resuming his role after gaining significant recognition for his contributions.
His influence was particularly noted during the last T20 World Cup, where he played a key part in the improved performances of young leg-spinner Rishad Hossain.
Mushtaq was absent during Bangladesh's recent series against India but has returned to the squad ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa. He was spotted during the team's training session on Saturday.
Reports suggest that Mushtaq arrived in Bangladesh late on Friday night. This time, however, the former Pakistan cricketer will be working under the guidance of a new head coach. Just before the South Africa series, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made the decision to part ways with Chandika Hathurusingha, appointing Phil Simmons as the head coach in his place.
Bangladesh is set to play the first Test against South Africa on 21 October, followed by the second and final Test in Chattogram on 29 October.
