‘Reports about Javed Omar completely baseless’
Reports suggested that BCB had already made up their mind and decided to keep Javed away from the action. But only a day after the reports, BCB has said that they did not know of such instruction from ICC.
Bangladesh's cricketing arena was shocked by the news that International Cricket Council (ICC) had asked the Bangladesh Cricket Board to keep former opener Javed Omar away from representing them. The former batsman was alleged of passing on team information while serving as the manager of the Bangladesh women's team during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
Reports suggested that BCB had already made up their mind and decided to keep Javed away from the action. But only a day after the reports, BCB has said that they did not know of such instruction from ICC.
BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury and Chairman of the media committee Jalal Yunus Chowdhury confirmed to The Business Standard (TBS) that they did not know of any such notice from ICC.

If such instruction came through, the BCB CEO would have been the first to know but Nizam Uddin Chowdhury had no idea about the ban. He told TBS, "We know nothing of the reports published about Javed Omar. We have received no such instruction from ICC. This news has no base because BCB would have known if something like this happened."
Jalal Yunus also informed TBS the same thing that BCB had received nothing in this regard. He said, "No such instruction has come from ICC to BCB. I have talked to some BCB officials and nobody knows anything about it. How it happened, who told it, nobody knows anything. Simply, this is baseless."
Javed himself was disappointed to see the news. Despite that, he decided to not comment on the matter. He said, "BCB has clarified the matter, I do not have anything to clarify. I have no comments on this matter."
