Salah eyes Premier League title in what he calls his final year at Liverpool
Despite reports suggesting Salah is close to extending his stay at Anfield, he revealed that a new contract is still “far away.”
Mohamed Salah has expressed his determination to achieve "something special" in what he believes could be his final season at Liverpool.
The Egyptian forward, now 32, is in exceptional form, having scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists in 18 Premier League matches this campaign.
His performances have propelled Liverpool, under manager Arne Slot, to a commanding six-point lead at the top of the table.

Speaking to Sky Sports in an interview released on 5 January, Salah reflected on his ambitions for the season.
"It's my last year at the club, so you want to do something special for the city," he said. "We waited 30 years for that title, but when we won it in 2020, it was during the pandemic, and we didn't really have time to celebrate properly. Hopefully, we can do it again this year."

His current deal expires in the summer, leaving him free to negotiate with other clubs. Salah is not alone in facing an uncertain future, with teammates Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also entering the final months of their contracts.
Together, they have been instrumental in restoring Liverpool's dominance in English and European football, winning every major trophy under former manager Jürgen Klopp. However, Salah believes a second Premier League title is essential to solidify their legacy.
"My motivation this year was to win a trophy and play a big role in achieving that, especially the Premier League," he explained. "There's still half of the team left—myself, Trent, Virgil, Alisson, and Robbo. It's important for us to win another trophy before we all go."
Salah also emphasised the need for this generation of Liverpool players to add more silverware to their achievements.
While the team has won a clean sweep of major trophies, the League Cup remains the only title they've lifted more than once.
Liverpool's title charge continues this weekend with a highly anticipated clash against struggling Manchester United on 7 January, as Salah and his teammates look to edge closer to their goal of reclaiming the Premier League crown.
