He also attributed the success to years of hard work and unity within the squad, which has grown together through various age levels.
Azizul Hakim Tamim, captain of Bangladesh's U-19 cricket team, has set his sights on World Cup success after leading his side to a remarkable Asia Cup victory.
Bangladesh clinched the title by defeating India by 59 runs in the final at the Dubai International Stadium, marking their second consecutive triumph in the tournament.
The team returned home on 9 December to a hero's welcome at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, where fans and officials gathered to celebrate their achievement.
Speaking to the media, Tamim was quick to outline his ambitions for the global stage, stating, "The World Cup will be our biggest test. We are preparing for it and moving forward with the goal of achieving even greater things."
Tamim's leadership and performances have drawn widespread praise, particularly for inspiring his side in front of passionate crowds in Dubai.
Reflecting on the atmosphere during the final, he said, "When I heard the chants of 'Allahu Akbar' from the stands, it made me feel immensely proud as a Muslim. Those who came to support us from early morning made the game even more enjoyable for us."
The captain dedicated the victory to the nation, adding, "This trophy is not just for us; it is for the entire country. Seeing the support from expatriates in the stands felt like we weren't just playing a match, but also making our country proud."
The young Tigers' achievement was celebrated with great enthusiasm upon their arrival in Dhaka.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) hosted a reception at the airport, featuring flowers, cheers, and a specially decorated cake commemorating the triumph. Fans surrounded Tamim, eager to take selfies with the skipper and the gleaming trophy.
Tamim attributed the success to years of hard work and unity within the squad, which has grown together through various age levels.
"Alhamdulillah, we are champions. This achievement is the result of collective effort and confidence. From the U-15, U-16, and U-17 levels, this team has developed together. Our success today is the fruit of everyone's hard work. Allah has rewarded our perseverance," he said.
