Tirondaz clinches top spot in national archery
Tirondaz Sangsad clinched the top slot in the Teer 11th National Archery Championship securing three gold, two silver and two bronze medals that concluded at Archery Training Centre of the Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi on Thursday.
Executive Director (Marketing & Sales) of the games sponsor City Group Zafar Uddin Siddiqui, Senior Deputy Brand Manager Rubaiyat Ahmed and President of Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) Lt Gen M Moinul Islam (Retd) were present at the day's closing function and later they distributed the prizes.
BAF vice presidents M Mahfuzur Rahman Siddiqui, Anisur Rahman Dipu and convener of the tournament committee Rashiduzzamna Serniabad, German Head Coach of National Archery team Martin Federick were also present on the occasion.
Finals of six team events were held on the last day of the meet on Thursday.
Recurve men's team: Gold- BKSP, Silver –Dhaka Army Archery Club, Bronze- Bangladesh Ansar.
Recurve women's team: Gold-BKSP, Silver-Dhaka Army Archery Club, Bronze-Tirondaz Sangsad.
Recurve mixed team: Gold- Tirondaz Sangsad, Silver- BKSP, Bronze-Bangladesh Ansar
Compound men's team: Gold-Dhaka Army Archer Club, Silver- BKSP, Bronze-Tirondaz Sangsad.
Compound women's team: Gold- Bangladesh Ansar, Silver- Dhaka Army Archery Club, Bronze-BKSP.
Compound mixed team: Gold-Bangladesh Ansar, Silver-Tirondaz Sangsad, Bronze- Bangladesh Ansar.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ram Krishna Saha of Bangladesh Air Force clinched the men's recurve singles gold medal beating Sakib Mollah by 7-1 sets points in the final.
Beauty Roy of Tirondaz Sangsad lifted the women's recurve singles gold beating Mehnaz Akhter Monira of Dhaka Army Archery Club by 6-0 set points in the final.
In the men's compound singles, Siam Siddique of Tirondaz Sangsad clinched the gold medal beating Himu Basar of BKSP by 144-140 score in the final.
Suma Biswas of Bangladesh Ansar won the women's compound singles crown beating her compatriot Shymoly Rai by 143-140 score in the final.
