We want to win in Sri Lanka: Sujon
Talking about playing positive cricket, he said, "I always talk about playing positive cricket. Attitude (body language) is very important. I want to see that kind of body language I saw in them two years ago. We will fight on the field. The result can be seen later. But we want to fight."
Khaled Mahmud Sujon doesn't think the Bangladesh team has the same body language that it had two years ago. For this reason, he wants to see the same old body language of Bangladesh cricketers during the Sri Lanka tour.
The former national team captain has gone to Sri Lanka with the team as the team leader. Before leaving, he spoke to the media at the airport about various aspects of the Bangladesh team.
For Khaled Mahmud, body language is the main thing in cricket.
Talking about playing positive cricket, he said, "I always talk about playing positive cricket. Attitude (body language) is very important. I want to see that kind of body language I saw in them two years ago. We will fight on the field. The result can be seen later. But we want to fight."
Mominul Haque, the captain of the team, spoke to the media on the eve of the visit to Sri Lanka and in his 13-minute press conference he was not seen once saying, "We want to win."
But Khaled Mahmud says they are going to win.
"Of course we want to win," said the BCB director.
"We want to play our best cricket there. The team that plays well will win. It's a five-day game, so we have to go from session to session."
"In the Chattogram Test (against Windies) we lost even after dominating for four days. I don't want that to repeat in Sri Lanka. I want to stay focused for a long time," Sujon added.
Bangladesh cricketers will be in quarantine for three days after arriving in Sri Lanka on April 12 before they get opportunities to practice.
The final squad will be announced after playing two warm-up matches between themselves in Sri Lanka.
The two matches between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
The first Test will start on April 21. The second Test will be played on April 29.
