Crowds flock to Huawei pavilion to experience 5G
Visitors also enjoyed playing soccer with a specially designed interactive humanoid robot
The Huawei pavilion on Friday spent a vibrant day on Friday at the Digital Bangladesh Mela as a large number of visitors flocked there to experience the fifth generation (5G) wireless technology.
Huawei, the titanium sponsor of the fair, has been running the 5G demonstration – the chief focus of the three-day event beginning on Thursday.
People of almost all ages, especially students, came in groups to experience 5G for free. They were charmed at the incredible gigabyte-level speed of 5G, according to a press release.
"Unbelievable! I am literally impressed with the 5G experience," said Tasnim Mitu, an Honours third-year student of the Dhaka University.
Raihan Rafi, a student of a private university in the capital, said, "I could not believe the speed of the 5G if I would not see it in my own eyes!"
On the second day of the tech fair, the visitors experienced 1.6-gigabyte-per-second data speed with the Huawei 5G.
"The incredible improvement [in Huawei technology] happened due to continuous efforts of the company in the development and research of the 5G network for a long time," read the release.
Huawei claimed it has spent $4 billion and 10 years in the research and development of the 5G technology to ensure the "cutting-edge technology leadership, leading in 5G research and standardisation".
Besides 5G testing, Huawei, one of the global leaders of providing smart devices, kept a play-zone at its pavilion. Visitors experienced real-time virtual reality test through the 5G technology.
Meanwhile, a large number of children, too, crowded the Huawei pavilion as it featured a specially designed interactive humanoid robot. The robot can play soccer following the command of hand gesture.
The robot enthralled Arik Ahsan, a third grader, who came to the fair with his father.
Anamul Ahsan, Arik's father, said, "My son is very much fond of robots. I brought him at the fair as it is the first time we are experiencing this kind of arrangements with robots in the country."
"The arrangements [at the Huawei pavilion] are aimed at showcasing the advancement of 5G technology in human-to-machine or machine-to-machine communication," said Nazmul Hasan, the marketing director of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited.
Huawei's 5G mobile phones are also available at the pavilion. The visitors can experience Huawei 5G smartphones and purchase the existing mobile phones in the fair.
The Digital Bangladesh Mela 2020, arranged at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre at Agargaon in the capital, will continue till Saturday.
