For the first time in the country, an all-women 48-hour-long Datathon is going to be held online from 26-28 January to encourage more women into Data Science, one of the top skills needed in the 21st century for every imaginable sector.
HerWILL, a US based women's empowerment organisation, and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) will jointly organise the event.
In the competition, the participants will work on the dataset. The final presentation to the Jury and selection of the top three teams will be on the closing ceremony on January 30. Teams will be evaluated by the accuracy of the solutions, sophistication of the models, and teamwork.
The Datathon comprises 34 teams of 129 participants from technical universities all over Bangladesh, with 7 highly qualified global Supervisors and 4 members of the Jury from four continents. The month-long program is led by Tanzeem Haque, HerWILL's Operational Lead and a reputable Data Engineer from Munich, Germany.
Datathon is an online competition where participants are challenged to work on a real-world social/business problem using a large dataset in different areas of Machine Learning, AI, and Data Analysis.
In addition to the competition, HerWILL is conducting four hands-on workshops covering basics to highly complex topics in the Data Science spectrum by experts around the world.
