Unitree G1: An impressive humanoid robot with unmatched agility
The Unitree G1 is a humanoid robot priced at $16,000, boasting impressive speed, agility, and resilience.
This advanced robot, an upgrade from Unitree's previous H1 model, can walk, run, and even withstand punches, reports TechRadar.
Unlike its predecessor, which moved slowly, the G1 is more flexible and capable of handling physical impact.
Standing 4 feet tall and weighing 77 pounds, the G1 showcases remarkable features. It can get up from a lying position, climb stairs, and even fold itself into a compact size for easy carrying.
Despite lacking a face and hands, the G1 can be equipped with optional three-fingered hands, allowing it to perform tasks like cracking walnuts, opening bottles, and even soldering electronics.
Equipped with LiDAR scanners, the G1 has a battery life of up to two hours, though it cannot recharge autonomously. Notably, Unitree advises users to maintain a safe distance, especially children, due to the robot's powerful capabilities.
While some of its skills are still in development, the G1 represents a significant advancement in humanoid robotics. As Unitree continues to innovate, future versions are expected to be more affordable and even more capable.
