EU Commission Warns Zuckerberg Over Meta's Decision to Halt 'Fact-Checking' Program
The European Union (EU) Commission has threatened to fine Meta, the parent company of Facebook, if it discontinues its "fact-checking program" in EU member states. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of the company, announced this in a video posted on January 7. In the video, he stated, "It's time to return to our roots of free expression. Instead of relying on fact-checkers, we will now focus on the community."
