Rabindra University six steps ahead in the Annual Performance Agreement
In a recent report published by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on the Annual Performance Agreement (APA) for the academic year 2022–23, Rabindra University has made progress among public universities in Bangladesh. The report, signed by UGC Secretary Dr. Ferdous Zaman on 31 August 2023, positioned the university at 23rd place out of the 46 public universities in the country.
What sets Rabindra University apart is its remarkable improvement compared to the previous year. The university, known for its lack of infrastructure, has made significant strides by scoring 75.98 points out of 100 in the APA assessment.
This represents a substantial jump from its score of 56.58 in the previous year, signalling a significant advancement in both academic and administrative processes.
According to the report, Rabindra University has also earned the distinction of being ranked second among newly established universities.
Additionally, the institution has topped the list of preferences among students who appeared for the 2022–23 GST admission test. Beyond its academic endeavours, Rabindra University has demonstrated a commitment to literature, the arts, and culture, surpassing other universities in this regard.
Commenting on this outstanding achievement, Vice Chancellor of Rabindra University, Professor Dr. Md. Shah Azam, expressed his gratitude to the university's dedicated faculty members who have worked tirelessly to uphold the legacy of Rabindranath Tagore. He stated, "Despite the numerous challenges we face, our teachers have devoted themselves to preserving the name of Rabindranath Tagore. This achievement serves as an encouragement for us to continue our journey of development."
Dr. Azam went on to emphasise the university's deep-rooted belief in realising the dream set forth by Bangladesh's Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, in establishing Rabindra University. "We firmly believe that we will be able to transform this dream into a reality. Our goal is to secure a prominent place among the top universities in Bangladesh," he added.
Rabindra University's remarkable progress in the Annual Performance Agreement reflects its commitment to providing quality education and contributing to the cultural and academic enrichment of the nation.
