"I reached Times Square at around 11pm. I saw lots of people on the street at that time. Some protesters attacked me when I was giving the PTC (piece to camera)," Hasanuzzaman told Somoy TV.
He also said that he continuously told the attackers that he is a TV reporter, but they did not listen.
At one stage, the attackers tried to take the camera away, but the cameraman resisted and got beaten up as well.
"I never thought that I, myself would become the news while covering one," Hasanuzzaman said, adding that the New York police was helpless in front of the massive number of protesters.
