15-day BSCIC fair starts in Netrokona
The products of various handicraft and cottage industries are on sale at the fair
The 15-day BSCIC Industrial Products Fair-2021 – organised by the Netrokona district office of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) in collaboration with the district administration – has started at BSCIC Industrial City in Netrokona.
BSCIC Chairman Mushtaq Hasan inaugurated the fair on Friday afternoon as its chief guest.
Netrokona Deputy Commissioner Kazi Abdur Rahman presided over the inaugural function attended by District Police Superintendent Akbar Ali Munshi who was a special guest.
The BSCIC chairman said, "BSCIC has stood by CMSME entrepreneurs affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic. The fair is organised so that entrepreneurs can market their products and make up for the losses caused by the pandemic."
Various handicraft and cottage industries' products – including, jute-made goods, eco-friendly stoves, alternative fuels, home furnishings, eco-friendly bricks, nursery products, processed food items, cosmetics, and boutique items – are being displayed at the 50 stalls of the fair.
Beneficiaries and entrepreneurs trained by BSCIC Netrokona are participating in the fair.
The fair will be open to the public every day from 3pm-10pm.
BSCIC has taken the initiative to organise fairs across the country to assist CMSME entrepreneurs who have suffered losses due to the sudden outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Already, fairs have been organised in the: Dhaka, Rajshahi, Bogura, Jhenaidah, and Sylhet districts.
