Some 15 mid-level officers of the Indian army, accompanied by their spouse, will visit Bangladesh from 6-12 July.
A press release of High Commission of India, sent to the media Saturday, said this is the first of its kind visit to Bangladesh and it is ‘a significant milestone in the history of bilateral relations’.
A specially designed aircraft of Bangladesh Army will airlift the Indian Army delegation from Kolkata on 6th July.
The army officers and their spouses will visit Bijoyketon Museum, National Parliament, Cox’s Bazar, Proyash, Liberation War Museum, Hatirjheel and National Mausoleum at Savar.
The delegation will also meet senior officers and interact with mid-level officers of the Bangladesh Army during their stay in the country.
Earlier, 25 young couples of Bangladesh Army visited Delhi, Agra and Kolkata from November 26 to December 2 last year.
The visits, which are aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two armies, were suggested by Bangladesh Army Chief during his discussion with the Indian Army Chief, the press release added.
