17 police officers including additional IGP transferred
Transfers of these Bangladesh Civil Service (police) cadres were made in the public interest and are effective immediately
The government has transferred 17 police officers, including an additional inspector general of police (IGP), two deputy inspector generals (DIG).
The Ministry of Home Affairs in a notification today (18 December) stated, transfers of these Bangladesh Civil Service (police) cadres were made in the public interest and are effective immediately.
According to the notification, Special Branch (SB) Chief Additional IGP Khondaker Rafiqul Islam has been transferred to the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU). DIG Md Golam Rasul of Dhaka Police Staff College has been moved to the SB, while DIG Md Israil Howlader, additional police commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has been transferred to the Industrial Police.
Besides, Tourist Police Superintendent Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
In a separate order yesterday, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali transferred 13 officers. The DMP media wing confirmed the details today.
According to DMP sources, the transfers include three deputy commissioners, four additional deputy commissioners, and six assistant commissioners under three separate orders issued by DMP.
