2 more women die of dengue in Jashore
48 new dengue patients admitted to different hospitals in Jashore in the last 24 hours
Two more women have died of dengue in Jashore, bringing the total number of dengue-related deaths in the district to seven.
The deceased are Jahida Begum, 35, and Jahanara Begum, 45.
Jahida breathed her last around dawn yesterday, and Jahanara died on Tuesday morning.
Dr Abdur Rahim Morol, acting superintendent at Jashore 250-bed General Hospital, informed that both women had been admitted to the hospital on Monday. When their platelet counts decreased to alarmingly low numbers, they passed away.
Previously, on September 3, Shajahan Ali Bishwash, 70, died of dengue, confirmed Dilip Kumar Roy, the civil surgeon at Jashore general hospital.
Additionally, four more people – Rebeka Khatun; Ruhul Quddus; Arif; and Rokshana Parveen Rani – also died of dengue in the district since July.
According to the civil surgeon office, 48 new dengue patients have been admitted to different hospitals in Jashore in the last 24 hours.
The total number of dengue infected people in the district now stands at 2,042, among whom, 1,733 have returned home following treatment.
At present, 85 people are receiving treatment at Jashore 250-bed General Hospital. More 224 patients are admitted to other upazila health complexes.
