2 shot dead on Oxygen-Kuwaish road in Ctg
Two men were shot dead on Oxygen-Kuwaish road in the Ananya residential area of Chattogram last night (29 August).
The deceased are Masud Qaiser, 32, and Mohammad Anis, 38.
Both men, residents of West Kuwaish in Shikarpur union, Hathazari upazila, were known supporters of the Awami League (AL) and closely associated with Yunus Gani Chowdhury, a former chairman of Hathazari upazila parishad and an AL leader.

Quoting eyewitnesses, police said the incident occurred around 8:30pm when Qaiser and Anis were walking along the road.
As they reached the vicinity of Nahar Community Centre on Oxygen-Kuwaish road, two on a motorcycle opened fire on them indiscriminately.
Both men were shot in the gunfire and collapsed at the scene. The attackers fled immediately after the shooting.
Local residents rushed to assist the injured men. However, Anis was dead on the spot, while Qaiser succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to a nearby hospital.
"Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting may have been motivated by a prior dispute," Sanjoy Sinha, officer-in-charge of Bayezid Bostami Police Station, said.
"Police are looking into the matter and conducting drives to nab the shooters," he added.
