3 killed, 1 injured in truck-auto rickshaw collision in Gazipur
Three people were killed and one injured in a head-on collision between a battery-powered auto rickshaw and a brick-laden truck in Chapair union of Gazipur's Kaliakoir today (7 January).
The deceased were identified as Karim Mia, 42, Ayan Roy, 35, and Sudip Das, 37. The injured was identified as Ripon Mia, 33.
Confirming the incident, Kaliakoir Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Atiqur Rahman Russell said police went to the spot upon receiving information and seized the truck and the autorickshaw.

According to police sources, the truck was heading towards Maona from Kaliakoir Bazar and collided head-on with the Kaliakoir-bound auto rickshaw in the Chairmanbari area around 4:30pm.
Karim Mia died on the spot. Ayan Roy and Sudip Roy died on the way to the hospital, they said.
The truck driver reportedly fled the scene.
SI Russell said legal action is being taken over the incident.
