3 motorcyclists killed in Rangpur crash
Agitating locals vandalised the bus, however, its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
Three motorcyclists were killed as a Dhaka-bound bus rammed their vehicle in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur Friday night.
The accident occurred around 11pm when the motorcycle was crossing the Dhaka-Rangpur Highway in Shathibari area, according to police and locals.
Murad, 33, and Madhu, 38, died on the spot while Shambhu, 33, succumbed to his injuries at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Shambhu, a mechanic at a motor garage in Shathibari, was driving the motorcycle, said Golam Mostafa, a local who was present in the area during the accident.
All of the three deceased hailed from Rangpur Sadar upazila.
Moazzem Hossain, officer-in-charge of Bardarga highway police outpost, confirmed the incident.
